Review process

AЯGOS does not operate to fixed publication deadlines. Therefore, we offer our authors the possibility of publication throughout the year.

To submit your text, please register and use the automatic submission system. Please use the template, where you will also find all necessary editing instructions (manual of style). If you have any questions or problems, please contact our Editing Manager, Alice Küng.

If you would like to suggest a book for review, please contact our reviews editor, Prof. Anja Kirsch, by e-mail. If you would like to write a book review, you can find the selection here.

The review process for all contributions is twofold: The editors will endeavour to provide initial feedback as quickly as possible (ideally within five weeks). In this first review, we check whether the article fits Argos in terms of content.

If your contribution receives a positive initial evaluation from the editors, you will be informed that your paper will be sent to one or more anonymous expert referees for double-blind peer review. If both parties agree, you and the reviewer can also contact each other directly. You will receive all reviews, including additional guidance from the editorial board.

After the requested amendments have been made, the paper moves into the publishing process. The two-level review process allows for a swift first response on your paper. In case of a positive peer review, contributions will usually be published within four to six months after submission.

The articles are also checked for plagiarism, which is not tolerated in any way.

A licence agreement is made with each author, usually in the form of a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence (as Creative Commons, with attribution to the author, for commercial purposes only with the author's consent, with the same rules for redistribution). The author retains the copyright.

Proposals for translations, interviews, special issues, and book reviews will be considered by the editorial board. Each article for a special issue follows the same procedure as articles submitted singly.
